'MSC Pelican' + 'Cuddington' 26th December 2017
The old crane barge 'MSC Pelican' has recently been moved from its usual location at Ellesmere Port boat museum to a more visible spot just ahead of the former ICI Weaver packet 'Cuddington'. I am unsure whether Pelican is owned by the museum or privately. She has had some work done to her in the last 10 years but now looks a little forlorn. 'Cuddington' looking far worse for wear behind could do with some TLC. Pelican is a nice addition to the collection at the boat museum as up until now she has been tucked away in a dock away from the public eye. Another recent addition at the boat museum is the ex MSC railway 'Toad' brake van which has been on display at Gloucester docks for a number of years. I believe the MSC railway had a couple of these ex GWR toad brake vans for use around Ellesmere Port.
