An organised visit to the Pallion shipyard in Sunderland where the SS Manxman resides in permenant dry dock. At the time of the visit she was imminently awaiting disposal after failed preservation attempts.
After coming to an end of her Steam Packet career Manxman was a floating night club at Preston in the 80's until moving to Liverpool in a similar venture. From there she moved to Hull in the early 90's and then onward to Pallion a few years later with an uncertain future. Over 15 years later she remains here in undercover drydock. It is widely said that her internal & external condition is 'poor' and certainly beyond any preservation bid.

*Update* Manxman was finally cut up in december 2012.. what a shame..
