'Loach' Clifton 1st October 2015
'Loach' on her way to be displayed at the Leigh Arms steam gathering at Acton Bridge on the river Weaver. 'Loach' is a working grain barge currently employed on the grain traffic from Liverpool Seaforth dock to Runcorn docks along with 'Panary'. The river Weaver currently doesn't see any commercial traffic and 'Loach' is likely to be the largest vessel to be seen using the navigation in recent years. She is part loaded with around 150 tons of wheat. If she was fully loaded she would likely encounter problems along the way as the river isn't dredged any more. This is one of the reasons why no freight has been carried along here since the late 90's.
