'Oakdale' Askam in Furness 24th November 2016
'Oakdale' built in 1951 by Abel, Richard & Sons, Runcorn is i believe the last Mersey barge remaining of wooden construction. She is moored on the sands of the Duddon estuary off Askam in Furness, Cumbria. Previously moored by the Maritime museum at Liverpool she was moved here by her current owner, probably to reduce the risk of sinking as repairs were needed back in 2005.
