Ellesmere Port boat museum 30th July 2016
A couple of vulnerable vessels languishing at Ellesmere Port boat museum. On the left is the ex Clyde puffer 'Basuto' of 1902. On the right is the last remaining ICI Weaver packet 'Cuddington' (1948). Other 'Packets' have gradually disappeared from the area including the scrapping of 'Wincham' in 2009. Davenham became a houseboat on the Thames in the late 90's and 'James Jackson Grundy' is also going to end up a houseboat after a few years in commercial use carrying grain between Liverpool & Frodsham / Runcorn.
